For six decades, people from all walks of life have turned to Samaritan Daytop Village for support during times of great adversity. As a result, Samaritan adapted and grew to ensure the health and wellness of the most vulnerable in their care. Today, they serve 33,000 people annually through life-changing services for adults, adolescents, seniors, families, and veterans. 

Over the past year, Samaritan has:

• Provided inclusive services at The Richard Pruss Wellness Center;
• Provided safe temporary housing and services to nearly 4,500 people nightly by increasing the number of sites in our network to over 28, with three more sites opening in late 2022;
• Opened five new sites for over 1,300 asylum seekers, including 500 children;
• Secured government funding to lead the fight against the deadly opioid epidemic by coordinating efforts among 22 providers across three New York City boroughs.
• Collected funds to establish Recovery Centers at 60 sites for people struggling with mental health and substance addiction.

Funds support the services and programs at our over 60 facilities throughout New York City, Long Island, and the lower Hudson Valley. Our expansive network of educational services; addiction, health and mental health programs; and housing facilities provide person-centered care for tens of thousands of vulnerable New Yorkers annually.
